What project does that belong to? Is this the backside of the theater or is this a mockup of the condos going up on 2nd East?

My guess would be the condos, because of the balcony railing. I hope that's what it is... the theater should do something more modern.

Are you sure. The roof of Carl's Jr. Can be seen. As well as the ramp for the regent street parking structure and.....the Wasatch mountains in the back. why would the condo project stuff be so far away.

I think it's almost certainly for the theater. The balcony railing and wood ceiling/soffit on the left side of the mockup match the renderings for the balcony on the theater. The glass with vertical fins in the center is probably a mockup of the glass for the front facade, and the brick and vent detailing on the right looks similar to the Regent street renderings:

Based on those particular renderings, it must be. Every piece is accounted for in the images. There is the LaPorte project nearby though, which is what I wondered if it was. I do wish they would do something less beige for the back of the theater.

DMTower. I actually thought you were thinking the ones the boyer company was building. I guess I should have actually finished reading your post . I thought what they are using that white stone Was going to be soMe sort of metallic sheets. This changes what I was expecting. No a good or bad thing but not what I thought.

There's more work done in those mock-ups than the LaPorte site.

^^^ Maybe that's what LaPorte has been busy doing.

Same, although I can see them covering a lot of that with signage, banners, etc. Hopefully there's enough going on that it won't just be blank walls.

Cool shot H4vok. Hmm, I'd love to see that beige non descript building on the corner of Regent and 1st eventually replaced. There use to be a very beautiful historic building on that corner.

A few weeks ago one of the companies in that building was moving out--all their office furniture, equipment, etc was coming out. I was hoping the building was being emptied for demolition...but we probably would have heard something about it by now.

That building is owned by Property Reserve Inc. I noticed that the first floor tenant had moved out as well. In doing a little digging, I cannot find any interesting information. If I find anything, I will let folks know.

Salt Lake Legal was the first floor tenant and I noticed that they moved into one of the American Plaza buildings (the one behind the Olive Garden). Not sure why they moved out, I just noticed with walking that they were in their new location.

Intriguing. And hopeful. Even if it's something happening a few years off, it'd be an improvement over what's there now.

I've been watching them work on this for weeks. I always wondered what it was.

Also I was driving down the hill to work on 100 South and saw just how tall the core has gotten... its huge. I can see the top of the core over the Walker Building from the midway point in One Utah.

I would be careful using the word huge to describe any part of this building. Also saying how tall it's core has gotten. Yes it is a nice building, but it really isn't that tall or huge. Honestly, no skyrise in SLC is that tall or huge. The three tallest buildings in the city are probably nothing more than low to mid high rises in most other cities across the U.S.
