This was taken during the polar vortex in back in February. Diggin the way the morning light interacts with the steam rising off the mostly unfrozen straits.

Shots like this from the northeastern viewpoint of the skyline are really starting to grow on me. The "I" shape of greater downtown makes it hard to appreciate the scale of density along Woodward from Jefferson to Grand Blvd. The compact nature of development in CBD along with the change in the street-grid from wagon-wheel like pattern in the central core to the square mile road grid-system can makes it more challenging to do downtown motown justice.
(It's the cleaned up Book Tower that tipped the scales imo, not to mention it'll be a great angle to watch the Hudson Tower rise.)
