Rock Street became Fort Moore Place, and it seems that Castelar Street became Hill. At the top of the image you can see Castelar Street north of Sunset, and it lines up with the street that runs in front of the High School.

Here's an intriguing photograph of a group of workers posing in front of the 'White Spot' Reality Company at 5258 W. Pico Boulevard on July 3, 1923.

They remind me of the group of workers in Hoss's USC video from yesterday. (even though this is over 10 years earlier)

Yesterday we had recreation from Julius Shulman. Today, it's administration. This is "Job 3258: Flewelling and Moody, District Administration Building (West Covina, Calif.), 1961".



It looks like the building had an enclosed courtyard.



I think that's the main entrance on the right.

The District Administration Building is still standing at 1717 W Merced Avenue, West Covina. I'm not sure if the decorative walls are original - the sides are hidden by bushes in the original picture. I can't see the courtyard on the overhead view.

And Lomara! What a find! This is the first actual footage I've seen of the famous 1949 snowfall! In color, no less.

Would a photo book of Los Angeles in the snow be anything buyers would be interested in?

Doubly my category ("trees" and "missions"): We're looking towards Mission San Fernando Rey--its convento building, to be precise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conven..._San_Fernando) . And you already know that they're Washingtonia filifera (California Fan Palm) rather than Washingtonia robusta (Mexican Fan Palm). LAHS students must have gone to San Fernando on a field trip!
