Portland, Maine 2015-2017

Here are a variety of photos I took in and around Portland, Maine during the time I lived there from c. 2015-2017. I've only recently gotten around to transferring most of these to my computer. Most of these aren't very good quality and were taken using a crappy cell phone camera, so I apologize for that.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, Portland, Maine is a city of about 70,000 in southern Maine, and is the largest city in Maine.

These photos are kind of in a random order and not really organized in any way, chronologically or otherwise. The vast majority of them were taken in the downtown area, but I tried to include a few shots of some residential neighborhoods as well, mostly the West End.

First word pops into my head when reading the title "Portland, Maine 2015-2017" is "unchanged". I hardly expect any major visual changes in this towncity from 2015 to 2017 even today to the exact date today.

Man, thanks for these! They genuinely capture the feel of Portland in a raw, unfiltered way.

Portland is amazing, it punches so much above its weight in terms of urban amenities vs. its size. Best restaurant / food scene per capita in the country. When you’re in Old Port or on Congress Street downtown, it feels as big and as vibrant is Providence.

God I love Maine.

I wonder if he knows Old Orchard Beach, which is close to Portland. And somewhat more famous - at least in this part of the world.

I was confused about that tower as well. Its seemingly inland location seemed weird for an lighthouse. Did some research and found out its actually an observatory, built in 1807.

Absolutely wrong. There has been a tremendous and unprecedented building boom on the entire peninsula that shows no signs of slowing down. The entire city has transformed dramatically over the past 5 years.
