^ Pretty cool. How many consulates, etc., does Austin have now? Can anyone list them or provide a link to a list?

We now have:

Mexican Consulate

Irish Consulate

British Innovation Consulate

Oslo (city specific) Innovation Consulate.

Don't have the time at the moment to post links but maybe someone else might be able to. Should be easy enough to find on the internet though.

Maybe that will open the door for a direct flight to Oslo in the future.

Do any of you have ABN subscriber access? I'm curious about today's teaser, "Surf park debate goes off deep end" --- something to do with the definition of "pool." Sounds like the sort of topic that would preoccupy Austin city council.

I noticed the "Crypt Keeper" has joined the debate over Uber and Lyft..I consider myself somewhat adroit on political matters but I just don't get the Nimby no-growth opposition to ride sharing.

Liz Lambert, SoCo’s hotel queen, takes over iconic Austin Motel
By Shonda Novak - American-Statesman Staff 1

Austin hotelier Liz Lambert, whose touch turns older properties into boutique gold, is about to leave her mark on another Austin business that has been part of the city’s history for decades.

Lambert has taken over management of the funky Austin Motel at 1220 S. Congress Ave. through her Austin-based hospitality company, Bunkhouse. The motel, a South Austin fixture since the 1930s, was purchased Monday by Greenfield Partners LLC, a Conn.-based investment management firm that also bought several adjacent businesses as part of the deal. Future plans for the other properties — which include The Turquoise Door and Blackmail Boutique — have yet to be determined.
