What's hard to understand? The lazy, obvious thing to do is to make the window pattern uniform, that's why placeholder renders of the tower look like this:
Especially since this is basically a flat box with hardly any depth and setbacks, you end up with an inert design that you can absorb immediately. Asymmetry does a few things, it makes you look up and down the facade to absorb what's going on, it differentiates levels, it allows for different floorplans (if you want to see problems with a regular facade, look at 432 Park Ave where a bathroom is the same size as a bedroom), etc.
