Oh man... I am sooo busy right now! I'll try to buy the game on the weekend, but I'm not sure how much time I can put into it for a while. Only a month and a half left of classes, then SC can own my life for the summer.

Hate to burst bubbles... but isn't tomorrow the release day? (March 5th)

I'm going to poke my head into Best Buy on the way home from work regardless.

Really starting to doubt my laptop's ability to run it though. I have all my components for my new beast of a computer ordered. So even if I can't play when I pick it up, I'll certainly be able to play soon!

I looked at best buy and it says the release date is tomorrow ...

Damn I knew it was the 5th but for some reason the whole weekend I thought the 5th was Monday

Maybe I'll pop into Future Shop instead and see if they put it out by mistake! Stranger things have happened.

Although I suppose without Maxis' servers up and running it won't matter.

So excited for this game!! I hope it lives up to the expectations because city sims are produced one a decade it seems. As I mentioned before, I stopped playing SimCity in favor of CitiesXL (which kicked the crap out all of the SimCity games) so heres hoping Maxis can win me back!

Plus...

I wanna show you peeps that Summit Vista will be the best area in the region!!

So, what city names are you all leaning toward? (I assume we get to choose our own, and mine won't actually be called Cinder, right? If I do get to choose...) I'm leaning toward Signal Hill. Might as well stick my my brand...

...yo.

Well if we're sticking to brands, mine will be "Cope Land"

A night of playing is in store. Can't wait.

Girlfriends? Pffff. I told mine I was heading to South America for business until next week and that I wouldn't have reception but I'd miss her.

I'm even getting her to drive me to the airport for authenticity. I'm then going to cab back home once she's gone.

I'm that good.

Lol.

My city will probably be built fast. I'm looking for a job and apparently that is not an easy thing to do in Calgary right now so I got tonnes of time to play until something changes.

Oh and as for the other life controller apparently no money = no sex in Calgary so I'm screwed on that front (and not in the good way!). It's hard to compete with all those Newfoundlanders with oil money. Their generosity does come in handy at bars though when I can get all the free shots I want!

Oh and as for names I'm thinking "DJ Smart Ass"

Hahaha.

When I left the house this morning I had the game downloaded, installed, and 20% updated. This took an hour. There apparently is a very, very large update that needs to be executed, even after download, which is a bummer. The installation and download took no time at all. I'm gonna head home at lunch between meetings and check on progress.

According to the official forums, it seems there are major server issues at the moment. 30+ minute wait times just to connect to a server. A big bummer. Keep it in mind when you want to play. Maybe boot up the game while making supper, instead of waiting until afterwards.

Also, who wants to start the region? We can do a public region so others can view it, or a Private region. Don't quote me on this but I think a private region is invite only, where as anyone can request to join a public region? Not sure which method is easier for our desires?

I'm probably going to start my own region first,to get a feeling for city building and regional cooperation. I want to make all my horrible mistakes privately instead of embarrassing myself in front of you guys. So I expect my casino-city will be slow going at first, as it will only receive a fraction of my attention for the first little bit.

Where can I buy it online, Copes? I don't even know the proper name of it... all I can find is Sim City 4 Deluxe, but I know that's not it.
