I think the retail base is 4 floors so there should be one more to go before the residential tower starts.

Is it just me or is this construction going incredibly slow? I mean look at The Bridge....its nearly topped off and all we have here is a few floors over the course of months.

Is there a huge part of the build making everything go at a relative snails pace that I am missing?

this site is huge and the footprint is huge. They were working below grade here for almost a year. There was no work on the Bridge below grade- they built up from the parking lot. The residential tower should rise at a much faster clip because I believe someone with inside info said they are going with the pre fabricated plank floors for the residential portion. Same as museum towers 2.

The Bridge has 2 or 3 floors of underground parking; see #167 on page 9 of that thread. But even the digging and related work at that site took like just a afternoon or two. They have been flying since they started.

I too have noticed what seems to be a slowing of progress here at Market St. East, but also else where in the steel work, like Comcast (but not Children's Hospital east side). All in all I've wondered if there's a shortage in steel or in the ability to get it fabricated. Just between NYC and Philly theres alot of steel being sent skyward. And you can't just take it off the boat and send it to the crane.

But I'm just guessing; I know nothing.

It really has slowed - even the window install on the building behind it. I walk to and from work right by that site and while there always seems to be 2-10 guys on the grid, there hasn't been a visual change in that structure in a month.

I also know nothing, however.

I think he got his wrist slapped for loose lips about the project unfortunately. All of his posts are now deleted...

Again, tower crane in front of Aramark Tower. This will add decent density here. A ~330 FT tower at 12th and Market would add some density and fill in the gap a little between PFSF and Aramark. Message to the developers: a ~430 FT tower would fill in the gap PERFECTLY

Good luck getting them to buy into your advice.

They have started installing the concrete planks on what I believe will be the fourth floor o the building so I take it we are beyond the retail podium now. The third floor has a low ceiling so it must be a mechanical floor for the retail portion of the building.

It's a shame that several prominent proposals east of Market have died, namely 701 Market and the 7th and chestnut tower. We need at least half dozen towers to go up east of City Hall to fill in that side of town.

7th and Chestnut tower was announced to be dead?

neither has been officially announced as dead. There also hasn't been an update on either in many, many months. I don't even think the 7th and chestnut project ever went for CDR.
