Metromover station to return soon

Metromover station to return soon
Written by Catherine Lackner on September 22, 2015

Good news, Brickell drivers, pedestrians and Metro-mover riders: the cranes are gone from the Brickell City Centre construction site and key components will be up and running soon.

“We are a fluid construction site, although we are very close to delivery of certain components,” said a spokesperson for Swire Properties, which is developing the massive project. All of the buildings in the first phase have been topped off.

The Eighth Street Metro-mover station, closed since August 2014, will re-open this fall, revitalized and incorporated into a third level of shopping, she said. Riders will be able to disembark and get to the street level, she added, though the station will not be connected to the rest of the complex yet.

The bulk of the first phase “is scheduled to be delivered this winter,” the spokesperson said. Included are two office towers (Two Brickell City Centre at 78 SE Seventh St., with 129,338 square feet of space, and Three Brickell City Centre, with 134,550 square feet of space at 98 SE Seventh St.), the 263-key Miami East Hotel at 788 Brickell Plaza, and three residential buildings. They are the East Residences, with 89 units at 89 SE Eighth St., the Rise Condo at 88 SW Seventh St., and the Reach Condo at 68 SE Sixth St., each of which will contain 390 units.

A 500,000-square-foot shopping center at 701 S Miami Ave., to include food, beverage and entertainment, is scheduled for completion in fall 2016.

^ If you look right in the upper center of the pic you can see the excavation for the underground parking which traverses the 3 city blocks that make up the BCC.

Apple Store coming to Brickell City Centre, source says

An Apple Store is coming to Miami’s urban core as the tech company signed a lease with the developer of Brickell City Centre, according to a source familiar with the deal.
The source said it would be the biggest Apple Store in Florida.
Brickell City Centre's bookstore, inside the development's 500,000-square-foot retail and restaurant component.

Apple (NASDAQ: APPL) also has stores in South Beach, Aventura, Dadeland, and the Falls. This new store would be part the $1.05 billion Brickell City Centre, a mixed-use project in Miami’s financial district with residential towers under construction all around it.

The 500,000-square-foot mall at Brickell City Centre is slated to open in fall 2016. It would be anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and include the first Cinemex dine-in theater in the U.S. More than 70 stores have been announced for the project, with many of them luxury retailers and restaurants.

Maybe I'm just picky, but I really don't like how this is turning out. When I first saw the proposals I was pretty hyped for it, but now... bleh

Brickell City Centre Taking Shape In Downtown Miami

Quote:
While the blue-tinted glazing has been fully applied to the aforementioned buildings as well as the shorter office components of Brickell City Centre, the shopping complex is rapidly taking shape. To provide shoppers with a comfortable, sheltered and climate-controlled experience when walking from one shop to another, a unique feature called the Climate Ribbon will run over 300 metres in length above the mall's open-air hallways. Made of glass and steel, the undulating canopy was designed to provide shoppers and visitors with shade while funnelling the breezes from Biscayne Bay towards the corridors, thus eliminating the need for artificial air conditioning. The $30 million structure is now being installed, as seen in the picture below.

One office tower is open, one condo tower is open. The Hotel looks soon to follow with the last office tower and condo after that. And then there is still the mall portion of course supposed to open in 2017. Hopefully One BCC (the 1000+ footer) gets started after that.

The East Hotel is set to open at the end of the month becoming the 3rd tower to open in the complex. Things will get going more when the mall opens later.

East Hotel, Quinto La Huella and Sugar Open At Brickell City Centre

By TNM Staff on May 23, 2016

A grand opening celebration was held over the weekend for the EAST hotel at Brickell City Centre, along with the hotel’s Quinto La Huella restaurant and Sugar's 40th. floor rooftop bar and garden lounge.

^ View from the Quinto La Huella, the Miami outpost of Uruguay’s world-renowned Parador La Huella Restaurant. Located on the fifth (quinto, in Spanish) floor of the hotel.
The building U/C on the left & across the street is the 595 ft. | 181m SLS Lux Brickell. On the right is the recently topped-off RISE condo tower @ 520 ft. | 158 m.

^ View looking North towards one of the office buildings with the Climate Ribbon floating between the Hotel & the office building & the shopping mall below.

^ The restaurant / Hotel on the left, the open air mall below still U/C with the Climate ribbon above.

This has really turned out better than the renders so far .
