I haven't seen any plans with surface parking surrounding the stadium and I think surface parking was banned a few years back in the central city anyway. I don't think I have seen any property in the grid go from undeveloped to surface parking in recent memory.

With that said. It's quite annoying how there are still lots of really old surface lots in the grid. I would think at this point most surface lot owners would be looking to sell.

Check out the Railyards EIR, Figure 2-13 shows where parking structures could go, and Figure 2-14 shows where temporary surface parking could go.

Looks to me like they'll be using some of the adjacent lots by the stadium as surface parking and there will be parking structures around there in the future. I think when the Kaiser Permanente hospital starts coming together we'll see parking structures for that too.

The light rail stop right in front will be huge and will be a great way to get to matches/events there!

Will the street car that runs along 7th to Richards have a stop there?

The light rail doesn't run all that far away from the site.

Yes - there's a planned stop right around there, not sure exactly but I'm guessing just north of Railyards Blvd intersection

I remember recently reading that we won't see major work being done in earnest until next spring.

There are updates to the MLS stadium design but I'm not able to see the article behind the pay wall:
