Starbucks

Anyone have any idea when Starbucks is scheduled to open? The outside looks pretty well complete, though I have no idea how far along they are with the interior.
Sure would be nice to get a coffee for the road after filling the tank at Costco.

When I was in Galway a few days ago I noticed 2 more buildings being constructed across from the Costco gas bar and near the strip that will house Starbucks. One building is framed up and is small and will likely contain just one business. The footings on the other building are much larger and look like they will house 2 units or maybe one larger unit such as a dine-in restaurant.

I'm crossing my fingers that the single unit building will be Five Guys.

The larger building maybe a Cara restaurant such as East Side Mario's.

Does anyone know how the housing market has been in Galway? I haven't driven through the residential portion of Galway since this time last year. Are houses selling?

One thing I noticed is the wind is absolutely vicious around the Costco gas bar. Couldn't imagine living with that - the snowdrifts alone.

There are no more new streets constructed but the current streets are slowly getting built up. I'm guessing you'll see an additional street or two next season. The residential area is heavily treed around it's perimeter and between streets making it a less susceptible to the vicious wind that occurs at that elevation. There have been more new trees planted in Galway than in every other Metro residential area combined.....which will be beneficial when they mature.

As for the Shoppes area, it's on an open mountain top.....I'm gonna start calling it the Wreckhouse 2.0

Galway update

Expedia Cruise Ship Centre is now open in Galway.

Work on Michael's is progressing but I have my doubts on a pre-Christmas opening.

Starbucks and Tim's are getting close as well. Tim's has an "opening soon" sign up. By the looks of the progress, I'd say Starbucks late November and Tim's mid-December.

To the west of Costco, excavators and construction trailers are on site. Not sure on what's going there...maybe the Princess Auto????

Smaller building is school of rock, larger one is 2 units, haven’t heard of tenants yet.

I asked about the new Micheals when I was at the one on Stavanger. They told me it wasn't opening until the Spring.

I've often thought why are there 3 Starbucks on Jenmount Rd? That might be half of all their St. John's locations.

One in Avalon Mall (technically Kenmount Road),
One west Kenmount Road joined onto Menchies,

Where is the third Starbucks on Kenmount Road?

Speaking of Starbucks. I heard there was one opening in CBS close by Tim Horton's in Manuels. FYI... I heard this from my wife who, in turn, read it from a post on a Facebook group. Not sure how accurate this information is, but (for what it's worth) I did drive by said location a couple days ago and the building being constructed looks very similar to a typical Starbucks building.

I should probably post this in the appropriate thread.

Drove by new Tim Hortons in Galway that afternoon...it was full. So was Tim's/Wendys combo store down the road.

Was in Galway this evening. All this stop signs are becoming hidden by the snowbanks. I almost blew through one if them and the roundabouts are getting very tight. Not so much a rumour... it's a fact!

The roundabouts weren't big to begin with - seen numerous people crossing over into other lane as they make their way through. I haven't been by there in a couple of weeks - can only imagine the scene now, probably closer to one lane.
