You think I don't know that. RT already told me, so stay out of it.

It was basically the same with Millenium Campus as well. Good for economic growth and development, but a large single-use district. Verdae, in my opinion, is Greenville's shining star as far as infill is concerned.
I don't think Greenville "had to take what it could get". What is being overlooked is that this a large area of land two miles from center city, not the far flung burbs 12 and 15 miles away. The following developments: The Point, Shops at Greenridge, CU-ICAR, Verdae, Millenium Campus, South Financial, Global Trade Center are all being developed with adjoining boundaries and much interconnectivity is being developed (bike lanes, pedestrian greenways, etc). The future light rail line that Greenville has been planning goes directly through the heart of these developments. If anything, this is more of a midtown infill, and all is right smack in the middle of the Greenville/Spartanburg/Anderson metro, where 85 and 385 intersect, with high, high visibility being halfway between Atlanta and Charlotte.

Some dandy pics there gsupstate. I really like Greenville. And the reality of development. Though center city is important for new development, almost any city in the rust belt would welcome the developments mentioned with open arms. I guess it's all relative.

You forgot Magnolia Park Town Center.

Great to "see" you again, gsupstate!

I was only really referring to ICAR and the terms of the land deal as it was explained to me on UP when it was suggested that ICAR could have been integrated into the urban fabric of downtown, which would have been more desirable IMO. I know that some disagreed with me on that last point, but we won't rehash it here. Anyway, that's what I meant by my statement.

Thanks man! The cities natural topographical beauty lend it to photography. I fell in love with the place the first time I visited and knew I had to move here. Have you visited Greenville?

Several times. Been about 6 months since I was last there. The west end development was a pleasant surprise. Even got some pics, but not sure where I saved 'em.
