I had not expected 706 to add so much bulk to the skyline as viewed from my apartment. In a couple of years from now there will be quite a cluster!

It looks like it’s now at the top floor. Is there anything that goes any higher?

But I believe 706 is ultimately going to be the tallest tower in the Yerba Buena area.

The upcoming Four Seasons Private Residences at 706 Mission Street, located across the street from Yerba Buena Park, topped off on Wednesday with the ritualistic hoisting of the final beam, including an American flag and small tree.

Designed by Handel Architects, the 45-story, 510-foot high-rise, which also uses the circa-1903 Aroson Building as part of its construction, will offer 146 residences starting in the astronomical $2.5 million price range.

Its 12 penthouse units will be priced in the $15 million to $25 million range.

And the grand penthouse, which will feature roughly 10,000 square feet of residential space and 4,500 square feet of outdoor terraces, comes in at a jarring $49 million.

There will be no below-market-rate homes available. The building is slated for completion in 2020.

^^So sad that nobody will be able to get Four Seasons services at "below market rate".

Would it be wrong to assume they paid a fee to construct affordable units somewhere off-site?

In addition to a $5 million gift to the (Mexican) museum's endowment, Millennium Partners is also paying $5 million to the city's affordable housing fund. The project was entitled before San Francisco voters approved Proposition K, which sets a 33 percent goal for affordable and middle-income housing for new multifamily projects in the city.

It's almost been a month since the last pictures. Can someone post an update when they can?
