The winding lake / river gives Austin such a unique skyline. Anyone know the distance between the Legacy and the Spring? Even though The Legacy is about to be in the shadows of a superior highrise, I have always liked it. It was the tallest building closest to I35 for years and was the first to stretch out the skyline to the southeast. Despite what came afterward and still to come, Legacy was and will always be an important add to the skyline even with the stucco exterior. It will be a nice contrast to all the shineyness that will soon engulf it.

Spring to Windsor on the Lake is 1.24 miles.

That's as the crow flies. Given the curvature of the river by car it's a bit further.

Yea, I've walked that actually a few times although I usually walk the loop from S.1st to Mopac cross over then back to 1st. Today's a perfect day for walking, love this weather!

Gorgeous sunset video clip by KVUE from their One American Center cam. Very cool with the steam rising above the Chase Bank Tower.

Just a photo of Metallica's James Hetfield chilling by the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue.

Maybe this year's ACL Fest with just him visiting? I know it was cold one of the days, which would explain the jacket. Metallica did play ACL Fest last year though. They did a cover of SRV's "Telephone Song".

Actually was thinking of sending this to a couple of my clients who aren't completely 100% sold on Austin just yet.

I hope the same person does a similar update in 3 or do years. The flight down Congress away from the Capitol is one we don't see too often.
