Well we know about the plan for a full buildout by 2030, so maybe this will make 2040 possible at least.

Work is under way on the new SWBRT bridge over Pembina Highway. It looks like the supports for the railway underpass are being partially dismantled... specifically, the northernmost part where there are supports, but no actual decking overhead.

Seeing it made me wonder... what were those supports there for in the first place? Was there a second bridge that was removed some time through the years?

I am referring to this... if you look at the retaining wall/support, it looks like there may have been another bridge over Pembina at one point.

Way back when there were numerous tracks that crossed here. There was a yard setting on the west side of Pembina where the Walmart is. Timber bridges crossed over top here. When the current concrete walls were built, those tracks were still crossing. Over time, they were removed. Maybe someone in the historical photo world could find some images.

This is all being taken down over the next year or two. Traffic will be down to four lanes through here for the next 3 years.

^ That makes sense. I had no idea there was a yard where the Walmart is... that must be long gone.

Can't see much from University Crescent. That and I can't take pictures while driving a bus!

Are they still adding a third lane on the northbound side of Pembina? I can't tell from those pics.

It's all pre-construction right now. Third lane will be added.

Pembina and Waverley underpass u/c at the same time. Yikes.

At 2 pm the other day going south on Pembina it was down to two lanes. Nightmare. Took 20 minutes for me to get from Grant, past the underpass. Reason being, because the south curb lane is closed, people turning off Harrow were rolling through the stop and trying to merge into the through traffic as opposed to waiting at the stop sign and turning into the extra lane. It was bad to the point where I honestly think they should not allow turns from Taylor to Harrow during construction and force people to access Pembina via Stafford or Grant.

Just wait, we've also got the McGillivray transit overpass, the Bishop Grandin transit overpass and the Kenaston widening south of McGillivray coming up. Midtown Bridge and St Vital Bridge are both supposed to undergo repairs this year, too. I think the NB Pembina from Grant to Confusion Corner is happening this year as well. It'll be a pretty rough summer for construction traffic for the south half of the city.

I'm surprised you people haven't mentioned that the Bishop bridge is under construction and has been for weeks now. They have been hammering in the steel piles for at least a week now.

Construction activities you'll see this season are:
-Blowing up the Pembina Underpass
-Transitway and pedestrian bridges at Bishop
-Pump stations for Pembina Underpass and Wye Underpass
-Completion of IGF Station
-Transitway and parking lots on the dog leg part of the route.
-I think some work on the McGillivray and Letellier overpasses

Bridge span for the pedestrian overpass at IGF station was put in either last night or early this morning. Retaining walls on the IGF side look complete.

Still curious to see what the Bombers do with the Rum Hut. With that gate now becoming likely the de facto main entrance... it's going to be a nightmare over there. Really poor planning since they new the RT station was coming eventually.

Previous years the RH location was great because no one ever used that gate, so people could hang out and take up the entrance. With the amount of people that will go through there now... yikes.

^ I know I'm a cranky old whiner, but how about people sit in their seats and watch the game? Having the Bombers encourage standing around drinking is a big part of why IGF has circulation issues on the main concourse.

Notice that the upper level concourses have no such spaces to stand around and drink... ta-da, no congestion up there.
