I can't think of a whole lot the owner can do to stop this particular type of killing, which apparently involved a couple of individual yahoos getting into it over a drug deal.

But yeah, in general, it's widely recognized that apartment owners can do a lot to manage security and that they are responsible for doing so. There's a large body of literature on this.

Thin ice?

All these boxy glass towers will make The Atlantic stand out as an architectural wonder!

BB&T Building

I think it looks good. At this rate, they'll be starting on the super tall behind the movie theaters in no time. (ok, maybe still a few years out, but seems sooner than later)

H&M confirmed in Atlantic Station

By Nedra Rhone | Thursday, July 26, 2007, 02:41 PM

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

H&M

Clothing from H&M's Divided brand.
It’s official! H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) has finally signed a lease with Atlantic Station.

The store will be the first one in the state.

H & M debuted seven years ago in New York with its first store at 5th Avenue and 51st.

It has taken months for the trendy clothing retailer to confirm arrival in Atlanta. The new store will be about 25,000 square feet, overlooking Central Park in Atlantic Station’s Fashion Avenue on 18th Street.

By Spring 2008, Atlantans will have access to affordable clothing by a revolving group of upscale designers. Past collections have come from Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney. Currently, Roberto Cavalli is designing a collection exclusive to the stores.

They're going to be on the second floor of one of those buildings.

Have there been any updates about TRL coming to AS?

TRL is Total Request Live, a daily video countdown show on MTV.

Man, I'm far too old to know that!

BTW---Atlantic Station---"Fashion Avenue"?

Finally, something more pretentious than "SoNo"!

That would be hilarious if TRL left Times Square for Atlantic Station. Why would they even consider that?

I think they used everyone that lives within the 30363 zip code, which was specifically created for AS.

H&M will take over part of the first level where MetroPolitan Deluxe is and the entire second level above Metro. Metro Deluxe will still be there but just be smaller. The Day Care will be second level above Pier One and will have a roof top play ground for the little kiddies. Not positive if it is just a daycare or a preschool as well. They are trying to attract more families to visit Atlantic Station.

i feel like H&M will be pretty big for AS...people seem to be willing to go to lengths to shop there. My fiance will spend hours traveling and metroing into downtown DC just to go there for a sale or something. much to my dismay.

Went by AS yesterday. Still no ground breaking for BBT, though they did have the area fenced off with the black fencing material and there was a piece of equipment.

One of my friends and I actually took a trip to New York last year to go to H&M. Of course, walking around New York was a bonus, but we hit up 4 separate locations...

I took a look into that big hole too - all I noticed was one piece of earth-moving equipment, which had dug up a corner of the asphalt.
