It's the U.S.'s 4th largest city. It's very major for this country. Huge port, petrochemical industry, international population. Wikipedia would be a pretty good source of info, although I've found some things in Wikipedia's article that aren't quite correct.
By the way, the "skyline" shown in this thread is Uptown, which is a satellite skyline. The downtown skyline is about 6 miles from Uptown, and is one of the largest in the U.S..
London of course is phenomenal. My Dad lived there for a while when overseeing North Sea rig construction. He lived a couple of blocks from Albert Hall in a great area. I visited and wish I could go back!
