Any news on the progress of this tower? or any photos of where its going to be, i dont really know exactly what plot its going to on. Its just a parking lot taking up space, right? I hope so!

thanks for the info, it looks awesome! I cant believe it will have been almost 30 years since Houston has gotten a decent sized tower like this.

For some reason I have faith in this project and I think it will get off the ground. Also Houston is doing better than other Major Cities so that might help as well.

I would think One Allen would have to get tenants before any financing would occur. Even if there are two different owners.

Yup today and yesterday has been awesome and now I present to you yet another rendering of Five Allen Center...

Look at the Modern Sculptre!

A major downturn in the economy tends to make it a bit easier to happen upon images of developments that have been planned in secret — though finding them can be somewhat less exciting than unearthing plans that are actually likely to happen. A tipster reports HAIF user lockmat’s discovery of two images of Brookfield Properties’ planned Five Allen Center office tower Downtown. We saw one hazy picture of this building back in June. But is there any more to it now than just a few pretty pictures?

Five Allen Center is marked “pre-development” on the Brookfield website: a 50-story, 1.2-million-sq.-ft. office tower planned for a 2.5-acre site at the northwest corner of Downtown — at the northeast corner of Houston Ave. and West Dallas. That’s a rather prominent position.

Kewl...

I wish there was a better rendering out there. One with much more detail. Still from what can be, looks very sleek...

I have found but one rendering and it was on the companies pdf file and it was a tiny little photo. The one that has already been posted above. There isnt much out there about this project yet which makes it seem like it probably wont happen. I sure hope it does.

At this point, i am just hoping the idea itself stays alive. Only time will tell. If anything we have a few things to watch get built for the time being. Still more is always welcome...
