Almost like certain contemporary forumers with their obsession with Calgary population minutiae.

I wonder whatever became of Waterlooinvestor? Meanwhile the new local forum that was created last week is up to 60 users!

^when he left (was banned from?) SSP, he threw a tantrum. Packed up his toys (deleted his posts) and went home.

He was KW's answer to Malek, a Quebec forumer of similar disposition.

We met the man once, but that was a while after the shenanigans took place here. He has definitely changed, or at least has a completely different persona IRL. I know you do!

Getting back on topic, were people able to salvage content from Wonderful Waterloo? I'm sure Google still has a half-decent cache of the site.

He wasn't banned, or else he wouldn't have the ability to delete all of his content. He probably got banned after that happened.

Nobody really knows. He disappeared off the internet about a year and a half ago and any inquiries have fallen on deaf ears or been met with wordless attacks. He got rid of the WW$ program a few months ago and when the prospect of a replacement forum (here or otherwise) was raised he went scorched earth on the place. All in all, a very concerning course of action.

I have only met him a few times (in person). Last time I saw him was in late 2012 I think. I have no idea why he shut things down or if he had any intent on shutting down the site.

I really liked Wonderful Waterloo and would like to see the site return. London does not have a site like that to compare to, so I've always been jealous of you guys.

Well he clearly had every intent to shut it down. He was the only one that could kill the site and he did.

You're right though, it was a good site, and it had a lot of great resources. They'll be missed. So far the new site has done a good job of recreating a lot of the threads, but you can't replicate 4 years of content.

Time to resurrect the KWC local forum here on SSP. I miss the bantering about the competition between London and KWC (you guys are winning, but we are not quite out of the running).

RIM

Waterlooinvestor would become very petulant when he didn't get his way.

I'm trying to register on the new Waterloo Connected forum, but it won't let me. It thinks I am a spammer and tells me to contact an administrator. But doesn't tell me who they are or how to contact them.

How can I get registered (I want to use the same userid as on this site and Wonderful Waterloo.
