Midwestern Music Festival Thread

The lineup for LouFest is out. It's a small-medium sized accessible urban music festival in Forest Park in St. Louis, sort of in it's sweet spot this year.

Lots of good lineups. I just hate festivals. Bands play crappy short sets, and you inevitably end up spending $100 to stand a block away from the stage surrounded by pre-teens on X...

I'd much rather go to a traditional concert, in a club.

haha. yeah, i'm sort of interested in these midsized festivals that are popping up around the midwest, the biggest chicago ones can be a bit much...

i'd go to pitchfork if caribou was playing, apparently will only be playing pitchfork paris.

Lansing has the Common Ground Music Festival.

It's the city's annual six-day summer music festival that began in 2000. It has never quite found its groove, and is basically a hodge-podge of whoever they can book with their modest funds on any given year. Sometimes they get really big, successful acts, but mostly it's whoever they can find. Rap, oldies, electronic, country, rock...whatever. It averages 50,000+ concert-goers or so over the six days. They've expiremented with stages all over the riverfront (and in some years they even had one of the stages at the minor league ballpark), but the focus has always been on Lou Adado Riverfront Park, the city's premiere downtown festival park.

Much smaller day festivals are held on my friends property every year in Maquoketa, IA. A very unique concert experience.
