Ya they said Manitoba is the last province Between Ontario and Alberta to discover diamonds. They're small, less than 1mm. Further exploration is continuing so who knows.
Similar to Potash. That invisible line that is the Mb/Sask border is like the great divide. Manitoba potash is not a sustainable endeavor as of yet. However ,the Rocanville mine just a stones throw from the Manitoba border is a high producing mine.
So you never know.
Is it going to make Manitoba rich like Alta. though?
In Esterhazy on Wednesday, the company also marked a significant milestone with its K3 mine, which reached potash at a depth of 3,350 feet on Feb. 16, 2017. The K3 shaft is the first to be sunk in the province in 50 years, and includes the construction of the K3 headframe, the tallest structure between Winnipeg and Calgary. The headframe rises 380 feet above the ground, or 100 feet taller than Mosaic Tower in Regina. The K3 shaft will also make Esterhazy the largest underground potash mine in the world.
The K3 Esterhazy shaft may just be the first one in 50 years that is ready to be used for production. The BHP Jansen mine is still not confirmed to proceed, even though a couple billion dollars has already been spent there.
Brandon Municipal Airport terminal renovation and expansion is complete. This small airport went quite a few years without any significant scheduled service so the terminal building was pretty out of date, but with WestJet now providing service to Calgary, it needed a bit of an overhaul. Looks good.

I learned something new today... apparently Flin Flon's superstack is 825 feet high. Here it is... kind of a drab photo, but I guess Flin Flon has bragging rights.

In terms of longitude it is, but then so is Easter Island and I guess most people wouldn't typically consider that to be a place between Winnipeg and Calgary

My line went north of Regina more along the line of Lumsden. Guess you drew a fatter line.
The whole between Winnipeg and Calgary thing, or even between Toronto and Calgary, is ridiculous. Fortress is trumpeting that, between Toronto and Calgary, shit what about Minneapolis, maybe even Chicago if we're stretching things that far.
