What a bummer, the Streetview guy told me he turned the camera on just so that I could be seen in a parking lot after I talked to him, but I am not there at all. I kinda wanted to be in there for posterity, and I apparently came very close. And my street has not been updated. The last update was in 2015 so its long due. Hopefully they will release further updates. That guy said he had been doing every single street in the city so I still have hope.

Now that I've been looking around the city looking for the latest updates, it seems that about 50% of the streets have been updated from Cumberland to Carp, possibly even less than that. A lot of local streets were not updated and I am starting to suspect we will not get any further updates. I am sure the guy I spoke with had been driving around what seemed to be "every single street" in the city but that was probably not the case.

Aerial imagery of many airports (including Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal) without many planes...

Are these in Google Maps aerial imagery or the stand alone Google Earth app/client?

Apparently a large Google Street View imagery update was issued yesterday and Canada was included. I've looked in a few places in Ottawa for 2020 updates but haven't found anything yet.

Has anyone found places with new imagery.

As far as I know there is no 2020 imagery for Ottawa. Google updated its Streetview imagery for the Ottawa area earlier this year (with 2019 imagery covering about 90% of the city) so I would not expect another extensive update before another year or two.

Google usually updates streetview every year, though it typically isn't a comprehensive update on all streets. Residential areas usually only get updated every few years, many areas across the province still have 2015 images for residential areas.

Main arterial streets typically have new street view imagery every year however. I'm not sure if the pandemic will impact this years shooting.

Satellite images are typically updated every 2-3 years, however Google Earth typically gets additional satellite images added more regularly in the "historic imagery" feature, though it is usually of lower quality (often features clouds, is a lower resolution, etc.). Downtown Ottawa has April 2020 images available with this feature currently, but the base imagery used in Google Maps is from 2018.

^ Yes you’re right, the central parts of the city tend to be updated every year. My suburban neighbourhood was last updated in 2015 and 2019, and I suspect it will take another 3-4 years for the next update. I don’t think any Streetview cars were spotted this year, possibly due to the pandemic.

I saw one in a Walmart parking lot in Gatineau about a month back.

The 2019 imagery looks like it was taken in late September/early October based on fall foliage on a weekday afternoon.

Any idea on how to tell the exact date of the imagery. I'm interested in the exact date of the 2002 imagery.

Thanks for the update. I see it in some other areas..such as Hintonburg. I wish there was some sort of colour coding for the year of latest imagery when you show the areas that have Street View imagery.
