I passed it on Carling at Preston on Tuesday. It's definitely in the area.

I saw a cute young fox here yesterday close to Bayshore, half a meter from the asphalt!
Don't have a photo, wasn't ready to suddenly shoot an unexpected encounter while driving.

July 2018 imagery available on Preston looking towards Carling. Other areas of downtown now with July/August 2018 imagery. It is kind of hit or miss where there is new imagery.

All crowd sourced. Much of the local imagery was shot by POV cameras on bicycles during a big push that @bikeottawa put together to get better route mapping in the City. This means there's more images of non-road routes than Google provides.

You can either use the phone app (you'll need a holder of some sort), geotagged POV camera footage / stills, or geotagged dashcam footage.

All images go through a similar privacy blurring algorithm as google imagery.

You can see the new imagery for the rest of Ottawa if you turn off the "Globe"/3D Buildings layer on Google Maps. Click on the three lines on the top left and click on "Globe". H/T to the posters in the Confederation line thread. http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...03028&page=459

For some reason Google Maps seems to have reverted back to using imagery from 2017.

As mentioned in the post above mine, "Globe" (i.e. the 3D imagery) needs to be disabled to see the latest imagery (which I guess is 2017 right now).

Ya, I'm not sure why they reverted back to 2017 imagery in google maps, but google earth still has the 2018 imagery.

Google Earth now has updated 3D imagery for Ottawa which seems to be from June of last year.

Among other things it includes 3D models of LRT stations!

And the Health Sciences building at Carleton

It'll be neat in a few years when the imagery gets updated again and this becomes more than just an under construction stub. Maybe Trinity will have been built by then too?

I am very excited about this...It has been SO out of date for SO long. Thanks for the update! I'm about to dive in!

Google Map/Earth always have more recent images in the history layer than the defaults ones but uses the images with the best quality regardless of age.

I saw the Google Street view car on Eagleson yesterday but I"m not sure if it was capturing imagery as the roof top equipment seemed to be parallel with the roof and not sticking straight up. As well, they now seem to use a blue Subaru and not the white Subaru as in the past.

There's a No Parking sign here. Why is it blurred? Protecting privacy?
Same question for many other locations.

Licence plates and people's faces are automatically blurred for privacy. Road signs and statues' faces sometimes get censored by mistake.

I noticed that in a few places primarily downtown. The imagery seems as if they have a filter over the camera.
