The Oilers felt asleep for much of the Minny game and man o man what awful positioning on that OT 3 on 3 goal.

Flames demolished the Ducks 8-3 yesterday, really enjoying watching this team lately!

Yeah, they've really started to get it together in the last 12 games or so. Even the special teams are showing improvement, which is a good sign.

Now, if we could just get Brian Elliott going the way he can, we'd have a killer goaltender tandem.

8 goals is awesome and all, but they were facing Jonathan Bernier. So that's equivalent to 1 goal on an NHL calibre netminder.

I like the make-up of the Flames roster. Real talented and skilled players with a nice complement of toughness. Tkachuk is going to be a fantastic NHLer for a long time and with Monahan coming around now I think they could get on a roll and make the playoffs.

Bernier's not that bad of a goalie. Gibson would have come in to relieve him but he was sick during the game and couldn't.

The coaching staff wasted a point by starting Montoya for no reason. It's not like we have a back to back and Galchenyuk gets injured the previous game so the team needs a boost and the fabulous coaching staff puts... Montoya. He gives a "questionable" goal early in the third while we were in control and all the sudden St Louis was back in the game before winning in OT.
When will Bergevin wake up and fire Therrien? If he can't see it then he should also GTFO.

Desharnais also got injured tonight so that now leaves us with Plekanec as our #1C (2 goals, 9 pts all season) and a bunch of 4th line centers. The scary thing is that McCarron is also injured in St John's and we have ZERO centers available to be called up.

Desharnais got injured throwing his first hit of the season.

You can't make this stuff up.

Agreed, Bernier is decent, just had a bad game Sunday.

So is anyone going to sign Ramo? I think the guy has earned another shot at the NHL.

The Toronto Marlies signed him to a PTO yesterday while at the same time sending Enroth down through waivers.

I hope they sign him permanently (or some other team in the NHL does), he did pretty well here the last couple seasons...

We are fucked... our center depth right now consists of Plekanec and a couple of 4th liners.

Alex Galchenyuk, David Desharnais out 6-8 weeks

Quote:
Montreal Canadiens centers Alex Galchenyuk and David Desharnais each will be out 6-8 weeks with a knee injury.

Galchenyuk was injured during a 5-4 shootout win at the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday when he collided with Kings center Anze Kopitar in the offensive zone past the midway point of the second period. Galchenyuk appeared to be favoring his right leg after it was clipped by Kopitar's leg.

Galchenyuk leads the Canadiens with 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists) in 25 games this season. His position as the top-line center between Max Pacioretty and Alexander Radulov was filled the next game by Desharnais, who did not make it through that 3-2 overtime loss at the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday, leaving the game in the third period. Desharnais has three goals and nine points in 25 games.

And Pacioretty was playing through November with a broken foot.

Sounds like the Canadiens of last year all over again.

I kind of feel bad for criticizing but he was a liability on the ice. He's looking a bit more like his usual self the past few games.

Elite grinding game by the Habs. 49 shots on goal while allowing only 21 and comfortable win.

It was nice seeing Price fired up a bit. We don't always see this side of him but he's quite the goon when he gets angry.

A little throwback to Price's history as a goon:

Here is a little comparison of last year Habs with this year. Basically the same start of the year, they had a couple points more last year. Now, this is when last year Habs went down the toilet with just 13 points in two months (Dec & Jan.)!!

I think they're in better shape this year but boy, do we know how things can turn around in no time!

LOL... this is not a mistake.

It was 5-0 after 8 min 43 seconds and scored in a span of 5:45!

Payback for the Columbus game!!! Probably the easiest game in Carey Price's career.

Max Pacioretty is back in my good graces. 4 goals game and all of the sudden has 12 goals on the season. Seems like the injury was real and not a made up excuse for his poor play.

BTW-Like Darkoshvilli said, Emelin is a clown.
