Most futurist/elegant and well-designed tower going up in the world? Me thinks so.

I have to hand it to Nouvel. The building started out at 1155' then went to 1250' and then got chopped to 1050' and it still is one of the best looking skyscraper designs I've ever seen.

if there was any justice in this world, this would be scaled up to 2000' and be the new NYC landmark tower...

Actually, it's too late for that.
With construction on the rise, there's no turning back now.
But hey, we don't always agree with those who oppose skyscrapers, but they've got to respect us, in particular when a spectacular first-class design like this commands the skyline.

Depending on how you look at it, there is another landmark tower, and probally one that is on par with Verre in terms of the design and intricate detail, and that is 9 Dekalb in DoBro. So while Verre will still be a stunner and a worldwide icon in the architecture community, we still have some gems in the pipeline to look forward to. Not to mention Steinway which some may view as even nicer than Verre.

I understand and agree with those developments, especially Brooklyn! That is an instant landmark in my book!!

Right now, the only hope we have is that Central Park Tower may have a surprise spire to reach much higher heights.

That's my

I"ve said it over and over again. It's one of the best the city has to offer (when it's built, of course)...

Even viewing the construction from far above gives me excitement.

What a view!
I agree, this is going to be an instant beauty that we will all marvel every time we walk past it.
Just wondering, how far is the nearest subway entrance from the site and which lines are serving the most direct arrival?

Because it is still rising in shadows I'm having a hard time figuring out if the glass is green or black?
