A recent picture from the top of the rock!
Now even with the height of 30 rock observatory.
It became the third tower that breaks the horizon line as seen from the northern side of Rockefeller Center.
Three more will follow...

NYC will look like it does in 'Futurama' well before the 31st century.

At the rate we're going, NYC may end up looking the way it does in the Fifth Element.

Uh that's exactly what I was referring to. What did you think I was referring to?

Always love going up there, even without the skyline changes being made. But over the next few years, it will be a great place to watch the northern midtown skyline change...

Okay I guess there is blue plastic over the upper windows. Huh! And great shots, it's starting to get tall and dramatic looking!

Wow! very impressive photos; some of your best you ever taken. The tower looks great!...In this shot you could get a look at the platform where the livecam is at 731 Lexington. You have a great camera you should have taken a closer look

Thanks for the photos!!!

I used to be a Tour Guide for Rockefeller Center in the early eighties; I would be up there at least 4 times a day - every day!

Even when the deck was in the clouds, it was wonderful hearing, but not seeing the city. Best job of my life.

Thanks for bringing back that memory. Now I've got to find my construction photos of Trump Tower and the ATT/Sony buildings.

Wow great pictures!

I used to be worried it would be too skinny but I think this building will have a lot of presence.

NYGuy once again makes Long Island representation proud by using his zoom lens to welcome the PSEG Northport stacks to the party...
...Not that I'm missing the point here, mind ye.....

I must, however, ask one off-topic 2 part question.
The last pic clearly shows an ovular structure accompanied by ::gasp:: overhead high-tension lines near a red building, doubtless a ConEd power station of extremely recent vintage.
Part A: What is that object?
Part B: Since when have they allowed the grid in any NYC boro outside of Richmond County/Staten Island to run overhead?

Hadn't thought about it. It's something to look for.

Yeah, you can still hear the city, sirens and all.

The residents of the upper floors will get to see all that and more! The views of the Sound (LI Sound), east & Hudson rivers, the Atlantic, they will see more of the city as it really is, which is basically a collection of islands and land mass.

I think you're talking about the plants in Astoria? But yeah, Queens is also different.

I'm really interesting in seeing the building as it appears with the windows in. I believe it will be more glassy in appearance than a lot of people probably think, due to the large size of the windows.

so the 59th st. and 53rd st. cameras are all jacked up. I assume they are in the process of re-positioning them which would be great. hope they get that sorted out quick
