This is going to boost occupancy for some property Downtown. Maybe even one that hasn't been built yet?

Regent Square (Block B1)

The next phase to Regent Square, the plan consist of a new residential high-rise, high-end retail and an Alamo Drafthouse. Tellepsen Builders is the GC; construction should begin soon.

http://www.tellepsenbuilders.com/gid-investments.html

Quote:
Regent Square Development is located at the corner of West Dallas and Dunlavy Streets, impressively stretching over six blocks. The development consists of more than 1.7 million square feet, including four residential buildings ranging in size from four to twenty stories combining for over 440 units. The ground-level of the buildings provides rentable retail space, parking, and a 34,100-square-foot cinema. An adjacent 6-story, 327,378 square-foot concrete parking garage provides residents and patrons with ample parking. The development features a luxurious residential and high-end retail experience unlike any other in Houston with amenities of the highest class in an ideal location.

That's a 36-story building - minimum. Doesn't fit the description. Did Tellepsen get some of the details wrong?

Are the units in this new tower for lease? If so, how do the rents compare to say OPP, et al?

It's unclear to me if this is the new campus or a view of the core of the Generation Park development. In any event, it will be the newest campus of San Jacinto College:

College to open new Generation Park campus next to oil company HQ

Perhaps they will indeed elevate their rail and show the incompetent fools are METRO how to implement rail - above grade. Ugh.

I recently took a spin around Houston for miles and miles.

I think anyone would be hard-pressed to find another major city in America with so much new construction - especially towers.

It's bananas. Maybe DC/Virginia?

Construction in every nook and cranny.

The level of new construction in Houston is transformative and is changing the urban cityscape.

Downtown, Beltway 8 (Westchase/Bellaire area), I-10 Energy Corridor and the Galleria/Post Oak areas have especially exploded.

My favorite still under construction is the BHP Billiton Petroleum Tower. Simple, classy and sleek.

Considering how crowded the I-45 corridor is in that area, it doesn't bring to mind "middle of nowhere" to me.

That was out of breath, mind blowing sex! If I weren't considering the Arabella before, I sure would now. Everyone should see that video. :-)

Crescent Communities plans to redevelop the Georgian Apts. at Willowick & Westheimer for their second multifamily project in Houston.

http://swamplot.com/on-then-off-sale...be/2015-01-26/

https://www.bisnow.com/houston/news/...tifamily-45856

Quote:
Crescent plans to start 10 new developments this year and 10 more next year for a total of 7,000 units and $1.4B of construction. That includes Crescent Northgate (rendered here), a 300-unit community underway near the Hardy Toll Road and Grand Parkway intersection close to Exxon’s campus. It’ll deliver in late 2016. Crescent also owns a site in the River Oaks District (at Westheimer and Willowick) that it’s holding for future development. Brian tells us about half of the upcoming projects are in Southwestern markets like Phoenix, Denver, Houston and Dallas that weren’t in vogue compared to primary markets when the firm started lining up sites five years ago.
