A rip off perhaps, but an institution nonetheless!

It's kinda a PEI version of Chicken Burger in Halifax. I will be a little sad to see it go.

I've heard it was the first fast food restaurant on PEI. So I guess it is a bit of an institution.

Although charging something like $17 for a Lobster burger on cheap "No-name" hamburger buns, and just a microscopic amount of Lobster has to go down as the biggest rip-off on PEI.

Impressive! What is going on with the concrete pillars going up beside the new convention space? is that going to be office space or something?

Relish Gourmet Burgers is coming to downtown Charlottetown sometime this year.

Rivers Corbett, co-founder and president of the restaurant, said he's still in talks with a landlord in the downtown core and can't specify exactly where the new restaurant will be located.

"I don't have all the answers yet but what I do have is an excited group of people,'' Corbett said, referring the company coming to the Island capital. "We have an agreement in principle and we'll be tidying things up in the next week or so.''

Corbett wouldn't commit to an opening date just yet but said it won't be long.

"They'll be tasting the burgers at the latest by December.''

There are nearly 10 locations in Atlantic Canada with five alone in New Brunswick.

"We have an agreement in principle and we'll be tidying things up in the next week or so,'' - Rivers Corbett, co-founder and president
Asked what separates Relish Gourmet Burgers from any other burger restaurant, Corbett said it's like comparing DisneyWorld to the rides at Old Home Week.

"The food itself has been created by a gourmet chef . . . and we utilize ingredients people never even thought about combining together.''

He boasts that each location features "a very energetic atmosphere'' with prices slightly more expensive than the average McDonalds or Burger King. All products are made fresh, nothing is frozen and each location has a qualified culinary technician on staff.

Land clearing

Hello anyone. Can you tell me what is going to be going on the land that is across the road from Sears. I see by my drive on September 18th that the road across from sears they are starting to clear the land right back to the by-pass. I wounder if the new Kent store is going to be going in there. I heard this back a few years ago that Kent was going to move out there. Well if anyone knows please post. Does anyone out ther in the business world know what is going in by Toys R Us to fill the rest of the space on the front, side and back of the building.

Sounds like the new Kent store is going to be huge. Is there anything else going out on the land they are clearing for the Kent store?

The Guardian had the story of the new Kent building starting. With the land being cleared for the new building. Also there may be another retailer going out that way as well.
