On Jesse James show you can see a new development to the south of his shop, the balconies are literally feet from his shop. Also, it looks like there's a development right behind his shop. There will be little privacy for the shop or show so hopefully they move out :-)

Supposedly they were wanting to keep the location of their shop a secret also. Good luck with that. Austinites seem to be keen at spotting their city on tv even if it's only a fraction of a second in a commercial. Speaking of which, I saw the new Iphone commercial with Austin in it. It showed downtown with the One American Center at night.

Nice pics. Thanks.

I was at Torchy's on S Lamar tonight. Pretty cool seeing the north end of The 704 rising up behind it.

Zilker Park Lofts. This is the project that caused an uproar last year because the back of it is 50 feet from the hike & bike trail. The project is just west of Chuy's

Coldwater (this is the one just east of Chuy's on the site of the old trailer park.)

Here is what's planned for Bluebonnet and S. Lamar, but I hardly think that would be highest and best use:http://www.sola-bluebonnet.com/site-plan

It's been posted before. It's a restaurant on South Lamar. Depending on the restaurant, I think it'll be fine.

Photos: Skyway Studios apartments to hit planning commission

Robert Grattan
Staff Writer-
Austin Business Journal

The Skyway Studios, a $15 million project by Foundation Communities Inc. along South Lamar Boulevard, will go before the city's Planning Commission on Tuesday.

The development could add 109 studio apartments to one of the fastest-growing residential markets in the city.

The owner of the property, Goodwill Industries of Central Texas Inc., is seeking to rezone the land it owns to community commercial mixed use.

South Lamar area’s transformation continues

By Gary Dinges
American-Statesman Staff

The face of South Lamar Boulevard is rapidly changing – and one of the biggest transformations is happening at the former site of Lamar Plaza.

Most of the 50-year-old shopping center, at 1000 S. Lamar Blvd. at Treadwell St. in South Austin, was razed this year to make way for Lamar Union, a multistory mixed-use project that will feature 443 apartments and 85,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

Man, the amazing thing about all these low/midrise residential projects sprinkled across Central Austin is that they're creating all kinds of possibilities for cool views of the skyline from their parking garages. As much as we complain about garages, they will offer some good views. That's for sure.
