hello everybody !
The last news of La Defense !

1.The building PRAETORIUM was inaugurated at the beginning of the week on Monday 5TH October 2009.
10132 SQM.construction with the standard_BREEAM BRE Environmental Assessment Method.

2.The replacement of the defective escalators is organized :
in the sector of Boieldieu replacement of the ancient escalators by new equipments at the second half-year 2010,
this operation is followed by the change of four escalators making the connection between the Esplanade and the plazza Michelet : replacement at the beginning of 2010,
then at the end of 2010 replacement of the four ancient escalators going of the room of exchange RATP(PARIS PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM) to the Square in front of the Grance Arche.
The Public institution promises a more effective maintenance of his park of escalators.

3.new overpass / nouvelle passerelle / between Twin towers Société Générale and the future building called Salle des Marchés.

4.La Défense is now declared tourist zone ; certain stores ( Those which sell cultural products) can open on Sunday like Toy's rus, Fnac, Decathlon, Virgin.

5.

The rise, the elevation of the Tower MANHATTAN is abandonned.

6.an other bad new :

the project TOUR /TOWER GENERALI IS DECREASING.

The investor Insurance Generali will build a tower with LESS SQM OFFICES.
The Tower GENERALI is not cancelled, but the works will beginn ONE YEAR LATER. And investor GENERALI has to present to make a NEW PLANNING PERMISSION.
The works of the Tower GENERALI had to beginn next year 2010 and now the works will beginn 1 year later : 2011 . SHIT

and at this time i have no more news about the definitive height ! will the tower be lower ? i don't know ! wait and see please thanks.

7.The Tower AIG will change his name and will be called now : Tower CHARTIS.

8.GOOD BYE 4 stars, because the SOFITEL HOTEL NEAR ON TOWER T1 has now 5 ***** stars.

9. advertising campaign in the sky of la defense by EASYJET.

10.NEW MAGAZINE OF LA DEFENSE IN FRENCH AT FIRST.DETOUR.

a new signaletic on the slab of la defense is in progress !

After 3 years of works the CNIT was inaugurated YESTERDAY wednesday 21 october 2009.

The works are not completely ended : for another fifteen months, 23 500 sqm of the outside vault will benefit "from a whitening" so that this building will find all the magnificence of his origin !

A big advertising campaign was thrown(launched) since a few days on several hundreds of advertising hoardings of the surrounding, announcing zones: " discover a new shape of shopping ", besides the cnit.com site was opened.

GALILEE BUILDING.

Areva hired 32 000 sqm of offices in "Galilee Building", situated 51, Esplanade of the General de Gaulle, in the district LA DEFENSE.
This building Galilee was acquired by Unibail in June 1999 and is actually occupied by Total.
The building Galilee is in renovation, the inside will be totally redone.

Galilee building is on your right in the district Number 10.

SHOPPING MALL OF LA DEFENSE : LES QUATRE TEMPS is now open on SUNDAY.

the opinion of a tourist :

"great shopping event
I must say that at the first sight on the outside this mall hides its greatnes that it helds inside. Here xou can find bouth extremly expensive stores and those for all pockets. I was impressed with organisation of les quatre temps and with its architecture. I can strongly recommend this mall to all who love to shop as much as I do and that is a lot!

WILMOTTE PROJECT

This project, due to the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, is a mixed tower which was a part of the competition "SIGNAL" taken away(gained) by Jean Nouvel.
After one year of reflection, the promoter(developer) Bouygues Immobilier and the architect wish to promote their project.

This team has chosen to concentrate on a single building with a totally new and powerful shape.
“One area, three bases” this could be a way of summing up the idea driving this architectural project.

To create the building, three independent entities are placed on a common core, giving the impression of pillars rising towards the sky.

The tower’s appearance of clockwise rotation emphasises the idea of a “signal”, when seen from all directions.
The base of each of these three towers begins in one direction to open towards another. Radically individual and daring, the tower would enhance the West Parisian skyline.
