50 largest cities of the Cascadia Megaregion quiz?

I thought this was fun! I was able to get 30/50. Not bad! It is tough, especially if you don't travel the region regularly.

You get 8 minutes to name the 50 largest cities of the Cascadia Megaregion. Cities...NOT CSAs/MSAs/CMAs. For example I missed obvious ones like Delta and New Westminster trying to remember Oregon ones!

Background, if you don't know what the (a)megaregion is (link to description):

Quote:
The area from Vancouver B.C. down to Portland has been termed an emerging megaregion by the National Committee for America 2050, a coalition of regional planners, scholars, and policy-makers as well as the Canadian and US governments. A megaregion is defined as an area where “boundaries begin to blur, creating a new scale of geography”. These areas have interlocking economic systems, shared natural resources and ecosystems, and common transportation systems link these population centers together. This area contains 17% of Cascadian land mass, but more than 80% of the Cascadian population.

The 2010 population of the megaregion was approx. 11.4 million (8.4 million in the US portion - 3 million in the Canadian portion)

Good luck!

That was tougher than I thought, couldn't spell Bellevue correctly though I tried many times, and figured anything to far east like Boise wouldn't count, as I did try Spokane, Kelowna and Kamloops. Also Strange that Nanaimo isn't part of the region... It was a fun quiz though, thanks for the link!

Amazing how fast 8 minutes go by. Time ran out as I was entering #28. So 27 for me.

I also find it strange that Boise is part of the region but Nanaimo, Kelowna, Kamloops, and Spokane are not...

33/50. But had to google how to spell bellevue. That, and should Boise and not Spokane really be in there?

26/50

A few I shouldn't have missed like Maple Ridge (thought I'd tried it already but I guess not) and Yakima (couldn't get the spelling right), but most of the rest I would never have guessed. I was running through all the Washington ads I've ever heard to try to come up with names... the one that got away was Renton (I've heard so many ads for "The Jewellery Exchange in Renton").

38/50... Missed all of Idaho cities, and smaller Oregon and Washington cities.

Although I too question how they set up the boundary for "Cascadia"... Its weird that Boise and 3 suburb cities are included but not Spokane, Pasco, Kennewick, and Bend? What about Nanaimo and even Mission?

And for North Vancouver... I actually typed so many times trying to get "the other" North Van to come out..

If the quiz is intended for cities west of Coast Mountains, this should be the top 56 (as how far the list actually goes)

Code:
1	Seattle WA	620,778
2	Vancouver	BC	603,502
3	Portland OR	585,845

again Kamloops and Kelowna, and Penticton should be there as well if Boise is, that is just bizarre that it includes Idaho.

The boundary should be from Campbell River on the Island (North tip) to Agissiz in the Fraser Valley (East tip) down to Eugene Oregon (South tip).

This would make the most sense regarding a continuously developed area.

What is also funny is that we have less than 1/3 of the area's population but have the 2nd, 4th, & 5th largest cities, along with the 7th, 11th, 12th, and 15th.

I got 25, but had to use google as reference lol. How is Spokane not a part of this region but places in Idaho are? I also forgot about Burnaby which is surprising as I have family there lol.
