^ Nice. New York jumped from 4 to 6. The city already got a massive height boost when 1WTC, 4WTC and One57 topped out. Next one is 432 PA, then 3WTC. After that it's open season!
111W57th, 217W57th, HY North, Tower Verre, 2WTC etc will rise pretty much simultaneously. 2020 is gonna be good.

I agree, and speaking from experience one should always remain a bit sceptical.
Let's see that the chances are of those 400m+
actually getting built:
1. 217W57th: 434m (or 472m max.)
Tower is as of right and has financing (although not 100%). Excavation is on the way and foundation work should be completed by next year. So this is a go.
2. 432 PA: 426m
Already under construction. Will top out by next year.
3. 1WTC: 417m (541m)
Already topped out and soon to be completed.
4. 111W57th: 412m
Same as 217W, it's as of right. Financing is in process and shouldn't be a great deal. Tower should start by mid 2014.
5. 2WTC: 411m
Currently on hold. To continue construction 2WTC needs a tenant. It's likely that by 2014 it will still be on hold. So my guess is 2015. At least the foundations are already done and the base is above street level.
6. HY North: 408m
Approved and already has a big tenant (Time Warner) so that construction can begin immediately. Unfortunately it will take some time (my guess is the whole next year) to build the needed platform over the railtracks. Related said the tower will start construction next year.
7. 1 Vanderbilt: 406m (400m min.)
Since the Midtown East rezoning got delayed by at least a year, we won't see any major news till 2015. There are a lot of factors in play here.
8. Shvo Tower: 400m+
Our mystery tower which should have 100 storys. Not much is known except that Mr. Shvo is apparently back in business.

9. ESB: 449m) Completed.
