Happened to be in the area the other day, but not long enough to snap some proper pics. Hope to do so in the near future but this is what I was able to get by sticking my phone out the car window and praying for the best...

This building is so sleek. I hope the glass looks as monolithic IRL as it does in the renders.

So do I! I didn't notice that in the renderings, but what a nice detail!

The etched glass effect in the first pic. This is such a great improvement to the Parkland campus... probably the best addition since the Children's hospital... and that was over 20 years ago. Wow, time flys!

I'm glad the façade isn't exactly like the renderings. The real façade looks great with the square window pattern, not to mention it is great for photography and is almost art in itself. I still am trying to get over how big this project is and what it holds for the future of Dallas.

News: Tom Hanks is in the process of staring in "Parkland", a drama of JFK's assassination. The city is encouraging on-sight filming in Dallas.

Snapped this with my phone today from St. Paul's. Not a terribly good pic because it was quite dreary...

I'll be back in the area with my camera tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Many pics and videos today on the DMN on this hospital which is scheduled to open this Aug 20th.

http://interactives.dallasnews.com/2015/new-parkland/

Quote:
At 6 a.m. Thursday, the emergency room doors will close for good at Parkland Memorial Hospital, signaling the end of an era in Dallas County.

Across the street, the doors of a new emergency department will open, welcoming patients for the first time to a hospital twice the size and light years ahead in technology and comfort.

Opened 2 days ago.

At home, at last: Parkland hospital opens $1.3 billion facility
Quote:
The first car accident victims arrived by ambulance 20 minutes after the hospital’s 6 a.m. opening Thursday. About an hour later, the first CareFlite delivered another accident victim. The emergency room quickly filled up with walk-in patients, while a steady stream of inpatients flowed across the street from old Parkland.
Quote:
As people poured into the $1.3 billion facility, Parkland officials paused at midmorning to declare that everything was going smoothly. A few patients needed to be redirected from the old ER to the new one, but the word had gotten out that Dallas County’s new public hospital was officially open, they said.
