I am almost 100% sure IF will be getting HOKU Scientific. It just sounds like the best fit in comparison to Jerome and Pocatello. Any thoughts?

Where did you get that info? Where is it going? I bet it will be near the Sunnyside Exit with I-15.

My cousin's friend worked for Landrover down at the Salt Lake Dealership, and said Landrover was planned for Idaho Falls.

It'll be by the Sunnyside exit.

Idaho Falls is also going to get a HUGE Toyota dealership by the exit too.

I have a question about Melaleuca Field. Are they building a new stadium or remodeling the old McDermitt?

They are remodeling the old McDermott, leaving the playing field and lights, and everything else is being rebuilt. Just found out yesterday it is due for demolition any day now.

Hilton Garden Inn

The Ball group has started on the Hilton Garden Inn downtown.

The negative is a person inside the company told me they were going to replicate the 5-story 150 room Hilton Garden they developed in St. George. This was 9-10 months ago. The PR today said there will only be 119 rooms in this project. My guess is they downsized the project and we are down to 4 stories.

I actually believe that the reduction of size of the project was due to Ball Ventures wanting to get the project going so they could concentrate on the old gravel pit project. I believe it is to be called Snake River Landing. I still think it will be a fantastic addition to "Hotel Row" and may push future development in the area. It's kind of funny how if one company comes here, their "rivals" start to take notice and in turn make their own plans to come here.

Just curious, anyone know about a Broulims Supercenter being built in IF? I heard from numerous sources about a store on the corner of Hitt and Sunnyside.

The Broulims saga has been going on for years. Is this information you received discuss 06-07 development plans?

Broulims actually applied for a building permit years ago to build on that site and they were turned down by the city. They were told to reapply after Sunnyside was made into 5 lanes. Of course this took a couple extra years and Walmart opened their grocery stores in those years. Last I heard Broulims was having second thoughts because of Walmart, and Associated Foods who owns the property was checking market conditions for a sale.

I hope your right. It fits right into my everyday path.

If you are saying that they didn't want to wait for market conditions to prove 150 rooms vital, I would agree.

If you are saying they are shortcutting this project to move on to bigger and better things I would disagree. Ball wouldn't have left money on the table, especially that location.

I didn't mean they were shortcutting but I do think they were eager to get the new hotel going. And who knows, maybe the city didn't like the plans for the 150 room version. Or maybe they were having problems in getting Hilton to agree to a 150 room hotel. I dunno.

I have also heard of a third hotel possibly in the works, I have yet to find out any info though. Have you heard anything? I have a feeling it would probably happen at the Sunnyside exit. Next year should be really interesting with the whole Sunnyside project complete. News should start to pick up in the form of official announcements for the development there and along Sunnyside. It may be hard to keep up with all the news!

I saw on the Taylor's Crossing billboard that Taylor's Crossing is 93% full.

What street is Marriott Residence going be on?

Also, I see they are starting building condo's south of Taylor's Crossing.

Visited Idaho Falls recently,

The River,Falls and Temple. What a beautiful urban landscape! I have never lived in Idaho, but have visited often, and I'm a big fan.

Hey, thanks Delts!

And for the seafood lover in you, I have heard from a source close to another source, that the Red Lobster may be building next to Wendy’s on Broadway. I have heard rumors that Darden Restaurants (the owner of both Olive Garden and Red Lobster) would only build an Olive Garden if a Red Lobster was built too. That would explain the sudden increase of site work on that pad, as of yet though, it is still just a rumor.
