I am compiling a historic picture file

I have a basically empty 2TB hard drive which I've been keeping all of my photos in. I've recently been scanning all the old photos that I find in antique shops and what not, but I would like some help from you all with finding online photos of Phoenix and the surrounding areas. Any info on the photo you have is helpful as well, but eventually I'd like to make it a semi public database of strictly historic photos.

If you have any of the photos I'm looking for, or can point me in the right direction, thanks for the help.

So far I have a ton of the Arizona Biltmore, Kon Tiki, and various other hotels. If you have direction towards what was between Van Buren and Washington and 7th and 12th streets, that's something I cannot find, or even history of what was there before Renaissance Park, Artisan, and Camden Copper Square, along with that infill housing and the school. I KNOW there was something substantial there.

ModernPhoenix.net has good stuff on MCM architecture.

http://www.acmeron.com is a great resource.

http://www.leifswanson.com/history.htm has stuff as well, though a lot overlaps with the Meron stuff.

The American Memory project also has good stuff.

You could probably find a lot at the various libraries (ASU, city of phoenix), moreso than what is online. They likely have huge collections that haven't made it online yet.

This is a good site, for most categories you can click on "Phoenix": http://www.arizonahistoricalimages.org/browse.jsp

This has historical aerials, back to the 1930s. It helps when you're trying to date a specific building. There are even "bird's eye" pictures of downtown Phoenix and areas of Tempe from 1930!

Amazing photo! Four Peaks is one of my favorite places to have a pitcher of beer (in any city)!

He obviously didn't take those pictures himself, so perhaps if you contacted him and explained your project he'd be able/willing to provide you with non watermarked versions.

EDIT: VV Post of the year.
