Was looking up pictures of aircraft and came across this bad ass picture of Houston, Texas.

What interesting about the Houston photo is that the cleared land adjacent to downtown (4th ward) is now filled in mostly with condos. Infill has occurred or is occurring around downtown such that the old ghetto wards are disappearing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Pa...on_skyline.jpg Relative to density, I like this one. There is another photo from the East Loop, crossing over the Buffalo Bayou, which is quite amazing.

This one is pretty old, but it's cool nonetheless.

I really like Houston's skyscrapers but it really needs some small filler buildings... like hundreds of them, then maybe it will look like a city.

I think this may be an old picture too, I'm sure it looks better now.

Can't be too old. I see that Discovery Green park in the picture. Wasn't that built within the last 4 or 5 years or so? My guess is 2009 or 10.

It's funny, of all the really sick aerial photos posted in this thread, the ones that get talked about the most are the Houston ones. And it always starts with the Houston members claiming the photos are too old or that the city looks more dense from different angles etc... Who cares? It's really weird. I just thought the jets looked cool flying over an American city. Could've been downtown San Diego...

Though I can't match the angle exactly, that neighborhood looks like this now - or as of 1 year ago;

Wow...good find, Reverb. I think the infill corresponds pretty much to the lots that had been cleared in the other photo. Shows really well just how fast the core is changing.

There are probably many scores of smaller filler buildings (e.g., mid rise condos and apartments) having been built recently all over the city, including close to downtown, and several clusters of talls that are like medium sized cities by themselves. Someone posted a parorama showing the clusters of talls a while back, but I don't recall what thread it was in.
