I guess you could read it as an upgrade over the other limited service hotels that have been built in ATL in recent years in the sense that the parking podium is below grade, but a downgrade in that it lacks anything like the height/density of those developments.
The rendering is bad which makes the hotel seem uglier than a nice rendering would, but we're likely to see the cheapest materials possible on this thing.
The intersection is "busy" in the sense that it gets a ton of car traffic, mainly people exiting the AC parking garage and through traffic on 17th. There are a handful of pedestrians too. But point taken: something more attractive and something to activate the corner more for pedestrians would be nice.
