I actually talked with the foreman at Derby during lunch just a while ago. The crane is not up due to staff shortages. They had to make modifications to the base and bore some new holes due to the base was not going to line up with the first section of crane. He did confirm to me it's a luffing style crane going up and that this was the cause of the delay. They are still working on the base modifications.

After a delay of 2 years, I’m sure we can wait a little while longer

Derby is going to have the Link 1 effect. Very small footprint and look taller than it really is. Very good spot and will close up the gap between Stewart and Link.

Add to that, with Aspire, ASU, Link 2 and a little luck McKinley Green and Garfield House, We will have a nice slew of towers riding along Roosevelt Row/Evans Churchill.

Thanks for the picture! Doesn't show on my end but if you copy/paste link to google chrome that works. I think Flickr works better than Imgur for posting in this forum.

Welcome to SSP!

Here's an image tip: Right-click your mouse on the picture you uploaded in Imgur, click copy image address (this is in Chrome. Not sure if IE works as good). Come back here and click Insert Image (the yellow square box in the toolbar above) and paste your image link you copied.

And here's your pic :-)

It also helps if you ad "h" to the end of the address so properly size the photo. Someone here taught me that.

Hey thanks Biggus! I could never figure that out. I always thought it was an L for some reason

Most will disagree with me, but I like the oversized pics. People can zoom out and in in their browser if necessary.

Got a definitive date for the tower crane install for those that are waiting for it patiently.

June 2nd to the 4th.

Haha, yea. Putting up a tower crane on Tuesday struck me as weird. I suspect we will be seeing X and Hines getting raised here in the next couple of weeks and possibly a crane going in soon at Broadstone Portland. So I guess they probably need to schedule these things with Stafford in order to have the equipment and staff available.

Either way, it's going to be a busy couple of weeks for tower crane action!

My opinion means jack shit and I haven't been to the Valley in two months, but it is nice to see such a large amount of cranes in the skyline whenever I'm driving south on the 17.
