Perhaps Dirst told them that they could save a few bucks by substituting every third fastener with duct tape. I honestly can't tell what it is.

I heard that instead of glass, Durst wants to use Saran Wrap to clad the remaining floors

At the logistics meeting this week, they said a crane will be mobilized next week on Fulton Street to begin the installation of the cable-net wall on south side of lobby.

Can that be put into layman's terms? After searching on Google I don't know whether it means simply preparation for the cladding, or the actual cladding as well.

You guys will be the first to see my newest renders. I don't know how the crane will be tied in to the spire/antenna [if even] but I made one up for visual representation of the basic idea. I made the yellow [South] crane as tall as the crane on the setback of T4, so I know it is possible for the crane to reach that height. I'm just too tired to add a more detailed description without rambling.

I have to say, when I first saw this design years ago, I thought that the view of the tower at an angle (i.e. when the tapering effect is most apparent) would look strange or awkward. However, now that the tower is nearly complete, I find that I like that view the best. The tower really soars from that angle and looks extraordinarily tall.

Basically the square frame for the cladding. The glass will be installed later.

forget this post, the question was answered by another user. have this extremely low quality test render based on official renders. only pay attention to the cables in the entrance. I was experimenting with the facade's lighting.

Definitely the best angle, it just looks weird and awkward when it tapers I think... The more it mimicks the old North Tower the better

He said the better view is where it tapers, and I have to agree on that too.I also thought that view would look bad and weird, but now that it's almost finish I have to say it's a very awesome angle.

I've mentioned before that from a distance the tower looks almost freakishly like one of the original towers still standing. But when you get it at that angle,
it looks even taller because of it's tapering form. I would have loved to see it with the complete spire.

It is a blast resistant frame for the glass. This is being installed by American Architectural and is different that the cladding being done by permetilisa. 7 WTC has a cable net wall at it's entrance . Here is an article link about 7 WTC cable net wall http://www.siny.org/media/projects/7wtc.pdf
