I was looking for a building roughly 750,000 sq. ft. to get a sense of scale if NS was to be a single building. 1075 Peachtree is 700,000 sq. ft., so maybe that's a rough approximation of what we could expect...

1075 Peachtree is 38 stories at 485 feet tall if Norfolk Southern decides to build one building I can see it being roughly 40 floors at over 500 ft tall but less than 600 feet but we shall see

Maybe it’ll be someonthing interesting like 1180 Peachtree, which is 690,000 square feet (60,000 sq ft less then NF) and well over 600 feet in height. But really it’s all speculation at this point, I just hope it’s atleast half exciting.

New details are emerging about railroad giant Norfolk Southern Corp.’s new headquarters in Midtown.

The two-tower project would include 1 million square feet near Technology Square, according to plans filed Wednesday in Atlanta. The buildings would rise on about three acres at Spring, 3rd, and West Peachtree Streets and Ponce de Leon Avenue.

Cousins Properties Inc. (NYSE: CUZ) has the site, near the landmark AT&T building and the massive mixed-use project Coda, under contract.

“Project Fusion,” the economic development code name for the Norfolk Southern HQ, would include approximately 856,000 square feet of office space. There would be a 14,000-square-foot childcare center with a 3,600-square-foot outdoor play area. Plans also show a 3,000-square-foot café, along with an outdoor plaza at the corner of Ponce de Leon Avenue and West Peachtree Street.

My best guess is it is along Hemphill, based on the street angles, however, the background of the rendering makes it look like it is on howell mill somewhere. We all know how accurate the backgrounds of renderings can be though.

Re: 699 Spring Street

"19 residential floors with 320 units (716 beds) marketed to students, young professionals and empty-nesters."

Is this usually the case with student housing?

It's open to everyone, but they're essentially all private student dorms.

I'm thinking just the block below at La Fonda. Hemphill is too far off from the actual star metals site to keep up the namesake.

Why can't we get tall towers in Midtown? I don't get it. If this was Austin, it would be a 800-900 footer...ugh.
