I didn't see the words jabberwocky or gobbledeegook in Proposition 1. It would have made more sense with those words.

I found this old rendering of the original plan VIA made back in 2000 (wow, 14 years ago!). I think that this is what we should be trying for, perhaps sharing some of the line with the Commuter rail, if that's even possible.

found it at: http://www.lightrail.com/maps/sanantonio/sanantonio.htm

When I was a kid, Loop 410 was considered the boonies. We big now!

CLICK FOR PICS (and some really good info on Hardberger Park)

http://therivardreport.com/land-brid...rdberger-park/

A Land Bridge To Complete Hardberger Park
Robert Rivard on 29 September, 2014 - The Rivard Report

Phil Hardberger Park is no longer the best kept secret in town. Opened in 2010 in the heavily trafficked near-northwest part of San Antonio where green space is limited mostly to well-tended lawns, the former dairy farm of Max and Minnie Voelcker is now busy seven days a week.

Got that in my inbox too. Hope it gets done. The park looks nice, and the land bridge would be something different.

Yes. It'll be an overpass instead of an underpass. Construction will begin soon.

No. That was about interchanges at 151/90 and 151/410.

In a story otherwise about Austin's now dead rail initiative, there's a glimmer of hope for the SA-Austin commuter rail.

Austin’s rail proposal fails – badly
November 5, 2014 | BY VIANNA DAVILA

...
Wolff said he won’t be calling for any other rail projects, perhaps with the exception of one – he’d like to see freight relocated off of the rail line that parallels the Interstate 35 corridor, to leave open the opportunity for commuter rail connecting Austin to San Antonio, a project known as Lone Star Rail or LSTAR. But capital and operations funding for that plan also remains elusive.

When you manage to propose a plan/route that some of the most ardent rail advocates oppose...

Bike/Pedestrian Survey and Crowdsourced Mapping Project

The Metropolitan Planning Organization is running a survey and a crowdsourced map of bike/ped issues. Check it out, take the survey and build the map. I just added a whole bunch of stuff.

"Cities where the downtown/suburban split is less clearly defined proved to be a challenge. Specht explained why he found San Antonio the hardest map to do: “It’s such a sprawling city … so it was hard to cover lot of different areas with just a couple of subway lines.” The difficult choices came down to finding the right balance between the number of subway lines and the graphic organization of the map. “If I put too many lines in, it wouldn’t be graphically pleasing.”"
