Today Joanne, Aisling, and I completed the most difficult hike of my life - 23 km of steep cliffs. It took us 9 hours. But the reward is the famous Spout, a river channel that every wave turns into a geyser.
Yep. ATV Trails and logging roads are not always your friend.
Cool. I never did that trail when I was out there. We had meaned to, but never got it on the plan. I was I believe out by the lighthouse you pictured. Did you start from Bay Bulls?

Nice shots SHH! Man, with all the pictures you regularly post, you've seeded Newfoundland envy in me like no tourist commercial could have. The island is always rising on my list of places I need to visit!
^The tourist attraction is the East Coast Trail. It is readily accessible from many points on the Avalon peninsula. It's easier than something like Mt. Assiniboine in British ColumbiaMt. Assiniboia. You could take a boat ride to it and see it from the water. We saw it from a whale watching tour in Bay Bulls.
Looking back through the pictures again, it is starting to come back to me a little more. I'm disappointed you didn't post a picture of the Useless Bay sign. One of my favourite place names in Newfoundland. I have a picture of that same tree.
