Aerial acrobatics at Villeneuve Airport

EDMONTON - An air show is returning to the Edmonton area this summer after more than a decade-long hiatus.

The Edmonton Airshow will be held at Villeneuve Airport in Sturgeon County on Aug. 22-23, and will include aerobatic performances, a family play zone and a beer garden.

“Edmontonians have been huge air show supporters,” said Richard Skermer, executive director of RWE Events, the organization behind the air show. “We wouldn’t be much without having aviation as part of our history, so we want to celebrate that.”

That is exciting for sure. I hope the weather is great and they can handle the crowds. I would not be surprised to see 50,000 people out there.
