Hey, Wait! Isn't this the time for you to complain/whine tiresomely about blue glass?
Or you just reserve those nauseating posts for special occasions?

The exit ramp is west and can be seen between the Windsor towers. It's the entrance to the underground parkings. Not sure why they need 5 lanes and have the traffic going UK directions...

They're stuck with the brown structure (just right of the entrance in the middle of the lot) which is an exhaust for the Ville-Marie tunnel.

In my opinion, the people at CF probably evaluated the Montreal market and have come to the conclusion that this could work. I believe they are currently looking for tenants.

What might make this work is the incredible design of both proposals (the 200m+ tower or the two 150m towers), which makes other office proposals like 900 de Maisonneuve (114m) and QdS Tower (145m) look boring as hell. Companies who want to move into a new tower often look for prestige office space, like this project.

I have a lot of confidence in Cadillac Fairview. They succeeded in building the first 100m+ office tower in Montreal in a while, attracting two big tenants, Rio Tinto Alcan and Deloitte, while other big office proposals were already on the market for some time. And the Deloitte Tower is looking very, very sharp.

I really doubt construction will begin without a presigned tenant, but I bet talks are in the works. I wonder who's looking for space. What's the square footage?

Nvm, here's the updated version according to the other page. 2 phases makes more sense. Still fairly sexy, although perhaps even more air-conditioner looking.

The fist tower looks like 150m while the second looks about 135m...

I'm betting that the two-towers proposal is the official one. After all, when CF announced that project, it's the two-towers proposal that was announced.

^And once this image becomes reality, it's pretty much as big as the skyline will ever look from this angle. The future developments (including Montreal's next tallest building, whatever it will be) will all be located down the hill from St-Antoine, and from this angle they won't get much visibility.

Until we decide to remove the 232m restriction.

Actually come to think of it, if they ever decide to optimally develop the Gare Central lands, we could have our next tallest appearing right next to PVM, filling the gap between it and Sun Life.

It would make sens to be Montreal's tallest being at the summit/middle of our Skyline.

Another place that came in my mind many times is to built something on Square Dorchester and Place to Canada... but forget it ! We need to keep it like that, but it would have been an awesome spot for our skyline !

How can a height restriction being applied to another city ?

As far as I know, the height restriction was made to keep clear the views of the St-Lawrence from the Mont-Royal.

It would be impossible for Longueuil to have any impact from there.
