Denver: 1660 Lincoln New Facade?!

So yes, I have been out of the loop for some time. Today I took some distant skyline shots, and noticed 1660 Lincoln, "Lincoln Center", appears to be undergoing some sort of facade replacement? Granted, I wasn't downtown and only took distant skyline shots today, and I only noticed this after coming home and processing my photos. Does anyone know what's going on?

What reputation? I'm beyond control of that. I'm just looking for an answer to my question, and last time I checked - Denver was in the Mountain West - and this could potentially be a skyline-changing project.

When Seattle-based Unico Properties LLC purchased the 31-story office tower at 1660 Lincoln St. for $38 million in 2013, the consensus was that the 1972-era building sat on a great downtown location — but needed a lot of work.

“When it was built, it was state of the art,” said Adam Knoff, Unico’s Boulder-based senior sustainability manager overseeing Colorado, Utah and

Knoff’s team works on retrofitting Unico’s buildings, including the installation of solar-power panels, and also works with other building owners who want their properties to be more sustainable.

For instance, the surface of the 283,544-square-foot building (which is home to the Denver Business Journal) is pebble-studded concrete, considered at the time to be a good insulating material for buildings. But the builders didn’t put any insulation behind the outside walls, Knoff said.

So when Unico took over, the company embarked on an 18-month retrofit of the building.

Do you know how boring that would be? Wishing bunt gone is like wishing Donald Trump out of the Republican primary. You all think you want him gone, but then what? He could be replaced by Eeyore. Or you could all just fall asleep. The forum is like a high school football game. Sooner or later you come to find that the game itself is pretty slow, and while the cheerleaders are nice to look at at first, you quickly realize they're pretty shallow and get awfully dull and tiresome.

I would have left the dark primer on, or just go full-out black. Short of a complete facade replacement, the best thing 1660 Lincoln can do is *NOT* draw attention to itself. Literally, lipstick on a pig.
