Took a nice little walk during lunch on the "brisk" December day. Here are some shots:

Some panels going in on this guy.

Had to get a pic of the church, still looking great.

Apartments going up on Broad.

And now the main event:

Nice pics. The Temple looks wonderful as always, and I didn't know there was a new apartment building next to the Inquirer Building coming up.

Vine Street's comin' up!

thats one of the two apt buildings being constructed at Broad and Callowhill by a MD developer working with Parkway. I think about 450-500 units total.

I believe it's called Hanover Company and they are based out of Houston.

I had a terrible nightmare last night that the construction on this building got halted. There were plans to demolish what was being constructed and put a charter school in it's place.

I should probably spend less time on this forum...

Am loving this development. But what is the green discoloration developing on the meeting house below the steeple? Is it something to do with patina even though this portion/material is not actually copper?

what makes you think its not copper? I vaguely remember a discussion about staining that often goes along with copper when the steeple was installed. It appears that the staining is at one spot on each of the 4 sides of the base which looks like it has limestone capstones. I would guess this has to do with a flashing detail that didn't work or wasn't built correctly.

Yes, the steeple is copper. The stained material I'm talking about below it is stone. Looks to be some kind of limestone.

you get great views of this and the one franklin tower project when CBS3 broadcasts the weather from their elevated deck. It's a great vantage point to look south on CC.
