The T&T reports that the
Magnetic Hill Zoo is very close to achieving their $1.4M fundraising goal for a new Asian/big cats habitat with a $100k donation from Royale Tissues (an Irving company based in Dieppe).
This is one of the most major projects in the zoo's history, and will require the dismantling of 13 exhibits and the construction of 7 new display areas featuring Amur tigers, Amur leopards, red pandas, white handed gibbons and Reeve's muntjacs (amongst others).
The zoo has retained a "world renown zoo architect" for the project, so it should be quite nice!
I have always been impressed at how the Magnetic Hill Zoo continues to improve. There isn't a year that goes by that there isn't some little (or major) enhancement going on.......
