John Molson School of Noise

I live in front of the John Molson School of Business presently being built.

In the beginning, the workers worked from 7am to 5pm during week-days. Then, I noticed they continued working past 5pm sometimes until 9pm at night. Then, they started working Saturday morning at 7 am. This morning ( Thursday), they began working ( chainsaws, etc. ) at 6am in the morning!!!!!

Don't get me wrong. I like skyscrapers, and understand noice is part of living downtown. But what stops these guys from staring at 5am on Saturday morning if things keep evolving this way?

Are any of you aware of city regulations in this part of town?

I would call a municipal counselor. I can understand construction workers making noise early in the morning on a week day. But if they were to make noise on a Saturday morning, i would also be pissed off. Like I said, Contact the city to find out what's going on, and why they are working so early and late!?

Like I said before, they now work on Saturday morning ( beginning at 7am ), end work during week days late between 6pm and 9pm.

Take a page from my book heto: when things don't go my way I just keep complaining until my dreams come true, or alternatively, peut-etre que le chantier pourait beneficier d'une visite d'une bande de gros haitiens fresh off the boat avec the bats de cricket, ca fait TOUJOURS l'affaire!

You really should take one for the team. John Williams has been looking rather grim these past few years and the business school is just what the quartiér needs. Fight the NIMBY urge.

I only hear the noise when i'm getting off the metro for about 2 minutes each day. I totally feel your pain and you can get through it.

he's not complaining about the noise itself, but rather the fact that they don't abide with the city noise laws.

Street cleaners, snow plows, garbage trucks and ambulances at night gave me incurable insomnia. The early morning in most parts of town are pretty quiet but all too often the silence is punctuated with something hellishly loud. I'm practically on ground level though. I believe the building heto lives in is about 150m +.
