Flights to Florida from Montreal's "USA Airport"

Allegiant Airlines is reportedly going to be providing flights out of Plattsburgh's new airport to Fort Lauderdale. Spokesperson Tyra Squires isn't confirming it but isn't denying it either, saying there are talks with airport officials.

Hey, I'm planning on going to Florida for a week in March, and I'm seriously gonna look into gettin a flight out of Plattsburg. Apparently it's like half the price compared to Dorval!

Yeah same thing if you go to Burlington. JetBlue I think will be offering non-stop flights to Orlando from BTV this winter. Apparently out of all the cars parked at Burlington International Airport, 30% of them have Quebec license plates!!! They are taking quite a few passengers away from YUL!

I went to Fort Myers,FL last May and I took a flight out of Burlington. French was spoken almost everywhere in the airport and in the plane.

J'ai payé environ 275$ aller-retour (1 escale) tandis qu'à partir de YUL c'était environ 400$ (1 escale aussi). Vol de Québec, je n'ai même pas envisagé.

What hurts Canadian Airports the most vs. American Airports is that the gov't adds all these taxes and surcharges that can sometimes even double the price of a ticket. They don't really do that in the USA, in fact their gov't gives out GRANTS to help Airports attract new airlines and build better infrastructure! I think Canada should take a lesson from the United States here and instead of hurting our airlines and airports, they should be helping them.
