Oakville is also a stop for both express and local Lakeshore West services, whereas Port Credit is local only, and they plan to keep that service pattern with GO RER.

I think there's also a lot more development planned around Oakville GO in the future than around Port Credit.
lol! my bad. Twitter rumour.

Looks great, but they really need to accelerate development of things around this spot.

The walk to Nait from the station must be pretty horrible. With new development and hopefully skywalks/tunnels to connect the new and old Nait buildings, should be pretty great.

I see the province is handing over the Electrification and 15 Minute GO Service to ONEXpress (Deutsch Bahn Inc) in 2025.

Those are really great pics of Edmonton. I really like the old trains. They look so much better then the new low floor trains.

Frist train traveled past Blair Station Monday morning a little past midnight. The beginning of testing before an opening in early to mid 2025.

Did get a glance at Kuno the Service Rotti in that vid though.

I am looking forward to the opening of Line 2 in Ottawa. It will make Ottawa the 4th largest city to have direct rail transport to the airport. Also this line will boost the percentage of Canadians who are within 1km of a rail station well above the North American average and maybe approaching some European countries.

Toronto, Vancouver and (soon) Ottawa... which is the 4th?

Montreal's REM extension to the airport won't be ready for a couple of years.

The UPX trains do this, too, although they are not separated from regular train infrastructure the way that the Trillium line is.

This makes me wonder what things are going to sound like at major GO train stations once RER is up and running. They do this at Union right now, but it's not in a residential area and the sound is muffled by the train shed. At stations like Liberty Village there will be a constant clanging of bells as trains enter and exit every few minutes. This may seem like a minor detail, but it is noise pollution and in a lot of applications (like the O train), I don't see how this North American rule makes the platform any safer than regular rapid transit where the trains enter without ringing bells.

Well, I wouldn't call it direct. It will be a three train ride to Downtown. The pre-Confederation Line bus was faster and more convenient.

Trillium Line runs on a Federally regulated rail line. That's why we still require the bell. Confed uses the bell when it's in manual drive mode, but it's not as annoying (kind of sounds like someone's touching the bell while it rings).

That's what I don't get and likely never will.

You build and replace infrastructure to improve things, not the opposite.

Seems idiotic.

Sadly it's not the only such instance of service actually declining as a result of "new" stuff being rolled out as part of Ottawa's O-Train adventure.

I believe the idea is that ultimately when all is in place things will actually be better.

We shall see.
